Job Descriptions with Adjectives!

The only point of putting it up here is to showcase that content written in job description matters.

Everyone is looking for the best-fit candidate but why overwhelm the applicant or someone just starting with frequently used adjectives like

Ninja Developers, Rockstars, Coding Ninja? Along with these others which are used. Instead of overwhelming, it has to be welcoming. Here lies the difference …

I came across this on some other social media platform. A former apprentice had shared the job application. Please find the link below.

Highlights of content which made a difference.

  1. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring software developer who is eager to learn by doing.

2. There will be a strong emphasis on producing quality work and becoming a great developer and less of an emphasis on speed of development.

3. This is not a typical job at a company. It’s a paid full-time apprenticeship opportunity working with John Britton in an individual capacity.

4. Qualifications: This is an apprenticeship: zero professional experience is required. Candidates must, however, have demonstrated determination and an unwavering desire to learn. Acceptable evidence may include completed coursework, self-study records, side projects, and personal recommendations.

This industry has to be more welcoming than it is for the newbies. Little steps like these might help bring the change. Encouragement, Support, 1:1 mentorship can do wonders which are never thought off.

Having a ninja developer onboard, or helping an individual grow into a ninja developer?

Honest, straight from the heart things. I care about, bother about, think about, I experience. I share them here. This has a purpose behind.
