Day 2,

The Kite Runner has been one of the favourite books. The simplicity with which the story is narrated is amazing. A book which was enough to make me cry, smile and feel every other emotion while I read it.

Feedback welcomed :)

Prompt: “The title of your favourite book is the first line of your poem”

The Kite Runner

The kite runner I saw many
Years ago. During summer breaks,
At grandma’s place
Friends calling out each others names
Running on road with a little kite in hand

Think Kites, childhood flashes back
All that comes up is the cheerful faces,
Gathered at the terrace with the aim
To fly the kite high

Competition like no other
You see them, you can see the spirit
Which says, come what may
Let’s fly the kite high in the sky

Red, Blue, Green, Yellow
The color you say the kite vendor will have
Dragon shaped, diamond shaped, delta shaped
Ask for it, and you get it

For Kite flying to real life
After all the low’s you’ll see the high’s as well
If you screw at the top, you’ll see the downfall as well
Persevere against the odds, you can stay there as well

Someone will be with you,
To fly the kite high
While there will be some looking forward
So that it falls
Straight to the ground as well
Just like in the real world

Amidst the hustle
You’ll see one happy soul
Running here and there
Just to catch hold of the kite
Yes, The Kite Runner ….

Honest, straight from the heart things. I care about, bother about, think about, I experience. I share them here. This has a purpose behind.
